Gifts for that teacher in your life
Every year I aim to give unique, useful, thoughtful and crap-free gifts (sorry, no other word is better than that!). I have rounded up some awesome gifts for teachers which have been tried and tested over the years as the giver and receiver. As a business owner, I love to buy local and support other small businesses. I'm not going to overwhelm you with a long list, just my Top 5. Enjoy!
#1 Book vouchers
We are fortunate here in the upper Blue Mountains to have a well-stocked and interesting book emporium where I've purchased many a gift voucher. I don't know one teacher who doesn't love to cruise through a book store in their time off.
#2 Lunch box
I have bought many fantastic gifts from Lime Tree Kids (here) They have a multitude of educational resources and gifts for both children and adults.
#3 Science-y gifts
Science is everywhere. My last teaching post saw me as a STEM and robotics lead teacher - I loved that job. The students loved learning science and I got a buzz out of inspiring students and colleagues to becoming excellent scientists. Maybe, just maybe, this is where my gift idea comes from...

#4 Essential Oil Diffuser
I am passionate about natural products for the house and when possible, as a healing agent for my loved ones. This is the perfect gift for those earthy teachers who prefer to live a low-toxic life.

#5 Low toxic gifts
I purchase a lot of these type of gifts from my local co op in Katoomba (here) in the Blue Mountains, NSW. As a member, I value that it is a not-for-profit business and that is run by an ethical board that well-represents the locals. Not only do they sell quality produce and pantry items, but they also sell a great selection of eco-products, many of which are made right here in the Mountains.
Another gem of a gift is bees wax wraps. You can't go past Blue Mountains made Gingham and Wax (here) which is my favourite alternative to plastic wrap. Also sold at the Blue Mountains Co Op.
And lastly, have a great Christmas break, see you in 2020! Sarah, The Holistic Teacher.
